FML was born out of an appreciation for and deep understanding of the shipping and freight movement business by co-founders Dennis Svilar and Chris Wientjes.
The FML team brings extensive expertise in the diverse areas of the logistics industry. FML was incorporated with the clear intent to provide enhanced integrated logistics management services to our clients.
Our team has a deep understanding of the freight movement, management, and forwarding business. Our knowledge stems from proven experience and enables us to assume the day to day management of the transportation and logistics requirements on behalf of our clients. Dennis Svilar, Chief Executive Officer
Dennis Svilar is the CEO of Freight Management Logistics, which has facilitated the logistics, warehouse management, and product handling services of over 50 million net tons of break bulk and general cargoes. Since its inception, the company has continued its growth through the diversification and development of door-to-door logistics and product handling services.
In 1985, Dennis co-founded Combined Transport International and Combined Transport Systems, Inc., which later became Freight Management Logistics. The Combined Transport companies were vanguards in the concept of providing fully integrated multi-mode transportation and logistics services to both the domestic and international shipping industries.
Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business and Logistics from Indiana University and completed post graduate studies at the Keller School of Business.
Chris Wientjes

Chris Wientjes, President
Chris Wientjes joined Combined Transport Systems, which subsequently became Freight Management Solutions, in 1995, where he established a New Orleans-based operation to provide fully integrated multi-mode transportation and logistics services to the Gulf Region and beyond. In his current capacity as President he channels his captaining experience by leading the continued development and expansion of the company’s multi-mode transportation, logistics, and warehousing services.
Prior to joining Combined Transport Systems, Chris served as Port Captain for the Nova American Line – Montreal, Canada. As Port Captain, Chris managed and supervised Nova American Lines Caribbean and United States Gulf loading and discharge operations to include both general commodities and bulk cargoes.
Chris began his career in the Marine Transportation industry as a Marine Surveyor for Nautech Marine Surveyors, where he oversaw the management of Loss Control, Vessel Condition Surveys, and Cargo Handling and Securement.
Chris still enjoys racing sailboats competitively in his spare time.
Ed Stettinius

Ed Stettinius, Executive Vice President
Ed Stettinius joined Freight Management Logistics in 2006. As Executive Vice President, Ed has expanded and diversified Freight Management Logistics’ customer base and services to include rail transloading, inventory management, CFS, ocean freights, air freight, rail freight, project management, and warehousing.
Prior to joining Freight Management Logistics, Ed founded Pacorini, USA through the acquisition of Maritrend Stevedores. Pacorini, USA, a stevedoring company and terminal operator, supported the London Metal Exchange activity of Pacorini Metals.
In 1997, Ed co-founded Stevedores, Inc. Joining forces with Cooper T. Smith to become the “ILA Light” division of TTO Stevedores, Stevedores Inc. grew into one of the premier non-ILA stevedoring companies in New Orleans.
In 1989, Ed joined Coastal Cargo Co. as Operations Manager. Coastal was the first successful non-union stevedoring operation in New Orleans, and during Ed’s tenure, the company grew to handling over 100,000 tons of cargo per month and expanded its operations into Mobile, Pascagoula, and Houston.
Ed has lived and worked around ships all his life, and over the course of his career he has handled millions of tons of steel, bales of cotton, bulk cargoes including alloys and grain, non-ferrous metals, and general and project cargo of all types.
Scott Butler

Scott Butler, General Manager, Houston
Scott joined FML in January 2019 and oversees the company’s day to day operations in Houston, including warehousing and distribution. Scott brings more than 25 years of hard-earned logistics experience and has worked in various facets of the industry, including stevedoring, trucking, and freight management. He is highly proficient in Out of Gauge cargo handling, Intermodal Operations, and lifting/rigging techniques. Prior to joining FML, Scott worked in business development for Gulf Stream Marine, as a terminal/CFS manager for Shippers Stevedoring Company, and in operations at Alliance International Forwarders, Inc.
Susan Jackson
VP Business Development
Susan Jackson, VP Business Development
Susan Jackson joined Freight Management Logistics in 2011. She currently serves as the Vice President of Freight Management Logistics, where she plays an important role in the company’s corporate management and planning structure. Her main focus is the diversification of the company’s business model, and during her tenure she has broadened the truck services division to include flatbed, van, and container services.
Prior to joining Freight Management Logistics, Susan served as Vice President of Business and Customer Development for Beemac Trucking Company in Ambridge, PA. While at Beemac, Susan oversaw Logistics Planning, Warehouse Services, Barge Services, and Rail.
Susan Jackson began her transportation career in 1985 with Prism Trucking Company in Monroeville, PA. As Vice President Business Development, her primary focus was in Marketing and Customer Development.
Susan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Marketing from Robert Morris University, and she currently sits on the board of numerous Transportation and Logistics Organizations throughout the greater Cleveland, Ohio region.
David Loewenstein

David Loewenstein, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing
David Loewenstein joined Freight Management Logistics in 2017 and currently serves as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing. In this role, David manages key accounts, builds and fosters strategic relationships, and promotes innovative solutions to drive business growth.
Prior to joining Freight Management Logistics, David served as the Director of Supply Chain for North Shore Steel, a leading Steel Service Center in Texas. While at North Shore Steel, he led the company’s direct and indirect material procurement while cultivating business ties with domestic and international steel mills and trading companies.
Vasil Kolar

Vasil Kolar, Operations Manager
Vasil Kolar joined the Freight Management Logistics Burns Harbor, Indiana office in 2006 as Manager of Operations and Terminal Development. In his capacity, Vasil has facilitated the development and growth of the company’s flatbed, dry van, container, and warehouse services.
Prior to joining Freight Management Logistics, Vasil served as a Regional Operations Manager at Djuric Trucking. At Djuric, Vasil oversaw all container drayage operations in the handling and delivery of general commodities.
Vasil began his transportation career in 1998 in the Intermodal Dispatch Operations Department of Midland Transportation, where he worked in conjunction with the Norfolk Southern Railroad’s Direct Intermodal Services Operation. While at Midland Transportation, Vasil oversaw the planning and operations of both container and dry van services.
Vasil Kolar has served on the Boards of various Chicago Regional Port Services Organizations.
